I have a cat that eats wet food and I have to smash it up. Silicone spatulas get cut up by the edges of the food can but these hold up. The rubber ones break after a short while of mashing cat food, so far these haven't. I just throw them in the dishwasher silverware tray to clean them.I have had these in the past which is why I have reorder the product.My wife thinks I'm a hero for finding these new spatulas to replace the thin, mangled ones we've had for years. These are very thick and sturdy, perfect small size, and they really clean easily because of their nonstick surface. These are so good I may order more for the garage. A real find.We needed a spatula to remove hair. Just right!I love the shape of this little spatula. It is just the right size for lots of kitchen jobs. It is not, however, heat resistant. I have been pretty careful about not getting the knife into the skillet when I use it to add butter or Earth Balance, a butter substitute. However, even touching the spatula to a hot skillet will melt it. After only a few weeks, the tip of my first spatula has melted and I threw it out today. Perhaps I expect too much from a nylon product since it would be difficult to make such a material heat resistant, but I don't think they should advertise it as such.
